Quinn Qilin Profile by ru-debega Quinn Qilin Profile by ru-debega
Profile for my one of my many Monster High OCs, Quinn Qilin, daughter of the Kirin. I drew heavily on aspects of Chinese and Japanese design to create her, since the Kirin is an important mythological beast in both those cultures, but in my mind Quinn hails from China. Still, I can picture her family moving around a lot, with her father and mother needed to bring good luck and herald important events all over the Asian continent. She's also my first successful doll modification.

Quinn is sweet, but a bit naive and spacey, and definitely needs the help of her ghoulfriends to get through the drama-filled days at Monster High.

And as you can see from Quinn's "Friends" lineup, there are many more profiles to come.

Awesome design! I'm recently working on a Kirin design with a friend. She wants to go more Korean on the design for the dress since they're populour there, too. :3

Do You Think It's Maybe Kind Of Possible That Monster High Took The Idea Of QUINN QILIN And Changed It Up A Bit For Mattel's Character; JINAFIRE LONG - DAUGHTER OF THE CHINESE DRAGON.

No, I worked on Jin for Mattel, too (as a contractor. I wrote her diary). I believe they came up with her before I came up with Quinn. They usually have their dolls planned out at least a year in advance.

Doubt what? I've worked with Mattel awhile now, and I have lots of friends in the toy industry. Just fact. They have lots of talented, creative people working for them. (Myself included.) They don't need to steal anyone else's ideas. Certainly not mine.
